The aim of this eight day course is to train law enforcement special operation team personnel in mastering the skills associated with mechanical, ballistic, thermal and explosive breaching techniques. The skills taught are considered current and online with international best practices within the breaching fraternity.
In addition to the practical aspects of this course, a strong emphasis will be placed on the breacher’s ability to accurately analyze a target in order to determine the best possible option to effectively breach it. To reinforce this key objective, numerous offsite locations such as residential dwellings, commercial structures and prisons will be utilized.
On successful completion of this course, the student will master the necessary skills in order to correctly analyze and breach an array of doors, windows, walls and other specialty targets. This course has been designed for SWAT team commanders, team leaders and assistant team leaders who may find themselves in a position of command during critical incidents such as a high risk warrant service, barricaded suspect, hostage rescue or other mission that may fall under the responsibility of a tactical unit. Commencing Nov 1, 2012 all TEES explosive breaching courses will be valid for a period of three years. For a breacher’s certification to remain valid, the officer / operator must attend a re-certification course within two months of the expiration date stated on certificate. Former TEES graduates are encouraged to attend this course as this will up-skill and recertify them for an additional three year period.
The aim of this two day course is to re-certify the breacher in the theory and technical skills that are considered current international best practices for explosive breaching.
The skills covered will focus heavily on the aspects of breaching that effect safety and the ability to guarantee 100% penetration of a desired target. Successful candidates will receive a diploma from TEES that certifies them as competent and operationally capable to fulfill the core breaching skills as mandated by their command staff.
